Hustlers Dominate ALL-AREA First Team Honors
Congratulations to the following players who spent time developing their skills as Frederick Hustlers. Eighteen players were recognized by the Frederick News Post as High School ALL-AREA First Teamers for 2015 and eleven of those young men wore the Hustler black and vegas gold. We are incredibly proud of these guys as they are not only super-talented on the diamond, they are outstanding young men. We take great pride in drawing players from all over - these guys represent Middletown, Brunswick, Urbana, Walkersville, Governor Thomas Johnson, Oakdale and Tuscarora High Schools.
Would you like to be next? Tryouts for next year's Hustler teams are August 15-16 and 22-23 at Yellow Springs.

11U Hustlers Fall 6-3 in Semis to Tournament Champ
The 11U Hustlers enjoyed a great weekend of baseball in the 4th Annual Battle at Gettysburg in Gettysburg, PA. The Hustlers went 2-0 in Saturday’s preliminary round and beat the Renegades Athletic Club 8-7 and the Keystone Bombers 12-9. Saturday’s play earned the Hustlers the #4 seed in the 14 team tournament Championship round. The young Hustlers started Sunday’s play with an impressive 15-0 win over the Central PA Yetis (#5 seed). That set up a semi-final matchup with the talented #1 seeded GoWags War Eagles. The War Eagles prevailed by a score of 6-3 and went on to win the tournament championship. The War Eagles outscored their other four opponents by a combined score of 38-1, including an 8-0 win over the Southern MD Knights in the final game.
Marshall Mott started on the mound in the semi-final game and was most impressive for 2.2 innings. Unfortunately, Mott ran out of gas and surrendered four runs before the 3rd inning ended. Matt Cunningham came on in relief and pitched well.
Mott, Cunningham, Andrew McElwain, Tyler Prather and Justin Ropp all had strong outings on the mound over the weekend. McElwain (7-11, .636), Cunningham (5-9, .555) and Nick DeLisi (5-11, .455) led the Hustlers offensively. Cunningham and Jared Struss each homered.
The Hustlers are back in action Wednesday night, 6:00pm, at the Yellow Springs Baseball Complex.
